Earlier this month a new independent shop that sells sustainable furniture and clothes opened on Salisbury High Street.
Bohemia is part of a group of independent retailers with shops in Brighton and Chichester who have come together to source their products from independent suppliers who use sustainable materials. All of the furniture sold at Bohemia is made from recycled metals and wood obtained from old boats, ships and pieces of driftwood.
“We feel very strongly that everything we sell is from a sustainable source,” said shop owner Robbie Burrus.
Selling vintage furniture made from recycled materials the shop’s furniture designers specialise in reproducing furniture styles from the 1930 through to the 1970. The shop also stocks a range of unique, bohemian clothing.
Since opening on Wednesday 10th November, Robbie says the shop has had a fantastic response from Salisbury customers.
“We would like to focus on towns like Salisbury with amazing history and culture. We want to bring back to the high street good old fashioned customer service and hopefully make the shopping experience enjoyable and fun. Our product range changes every week with new lines of retro furniture and bohemia clothing,” added Robbie.
Dan Collins, Business Manager at Salisbury BID said, “It’s great to see another independent business choose Salisbury city centre as their location. Bohemia’s ethical and sustainable business will definitely add vibrancy to our high st. and we wish Robbie and his team the best of luck”.
