Next month is 'Indies Week' in Salisbury where local people, businesses and media are giving some love to our many and varied local, independent businesses around the city centre.
This enterprise organised by Salisbury BID, will now last for the full month of July, not just Independents' Day on July 4th as the BID arranges for Love Salisbury to deliver over £8,000 of free marketing for local independent businesses.
Salisbury BID is funded by and supports over 500 levy-paying businesses within the ring road of the city.
BID Manager Dan Collins says, "We are preparing to get our city of 'independents' noticed!
"Salisbury Indies will be going live on Instagram, creating promotional offers, original content posts, and more.
"Experience Salisbury will also be promoting independent businesses during indies month via blogs, social media posts and press releases and businesses have been given their share of £8,000 of free marketing through Love Salisbury".
Radio listeners will notice that Salisbury's local radio station has extended the 'Indies Week' to 'Indies Month'.
From July 1st, 40 local businesses including R&L Bailey, The Hair Extension Cave and Hardy's Sweet Shop will get an extra boost with a full month's worth of marketing exposure from Love Salisbury and Salisbury Radio.
As part of the campaign to promote local businesses, the BID have produced yet more stylish tote shopping bags. Mr Collins says, "Due to their success last year, for 2022 we have a brand-new tote bag to celebrate our City of Independents.
"These cotton tote shopping bag, with the Salisbury branding, which will be given to businesses to give away free with any purchase over £20."
For the first time Salisbury BID are also encouraging business owners to "swap roles" with another independent business in Salisbury. They say this unique effort will give business owners the chance to meet others and spend a day in the life of another local business.
The first 40 businesses who have responded to the request from Salisbury BID have been asked to complete a form here.
Other local businesses are offered discounted marketing and can contact Karli Hart by email here.
