St Joseph's Catholic School in Salisbury's Anti-Bullying Ambassadors have created a campaign focused on student wellbeing.
The group is working in collaboration with the Princess Diana Award. Key initiatives have included a Student Wellbeing Survey, an Art Competition to create decorative school banners, and a series of assemblies and buddying programs designed to foster community support.
The next step in the campaign is to develop a sheltered well-being area where students can enjoy fresh air in a calm, relaxed space.
The Anti-Bullying Ambassadors had already earned a community badge for their work with Salisbury Reds and for creating the school's first Colour Run event.
Tesco Stronger Starts Programme
The school were thrilled to learn that their Anti-Bullying Ambassadors had been accepted into the Tesco Stronger Starts programme.
They say they plan to use the funds to create a wellbeing seating area—a serene outdoor space where pupils can unwind during break and lunch times.
Voting with the blue tokens officially began this month and will run until the 12th of January. They ask that if you visit any of the following Tesco stores, please support St Joseph’s by adding to their collection:
• Fordingbridge Tesco
• Salisbury, Wilton Road Tesco
• Salisbury, Town Centre Tesco
• Salisbury, Southampton Road Tesco
Madalyn Morrissey-Leggett said, "Receiving the grant feels like helping out a friend. A chance for us to grow new friendships by giving us a calm space to socialise."
Beatrix James added, "Being an Anti-Bullying Ambassador gives us a strong sense of being part of the community and allows us to help others."
The project with the most tokens is awarded £1500, the second receives £1000, and the third gets £500.
The ambassadors say, "The more money we raise, the more we can achieve for our school community."
