Serve On’s International Response Team is now out on the ground in Türkiye, Adiyaman, conducting Urban Search & Rescue operations.
The region, located just north of the epicentre, suffered significant damage during the quake.
As we reported earlier in the week, Serve On, who are based just outside of Salisbury were green lighted to join the rescue effort in the rejoin.
Twelve of their volunteers have taken time away from their day jobs and are now operating as a light search & rescue team, working alongside our partners from the European Association of Civil Protection Volunteer Teams (EVOLSAR), as well as multiple teams from across the world.
Despite several days having passed, many live victims are still being found and rescued in the area.
Serve On also have a UK-based Command Support Team, working around the clock to ensure the team on the ground have all the information they may require to function as an effective rescue asset, as well as ensuring that they effectively assist in the ‘bigger picture’ global response.
As well as their skills and equipment, the team is taking a host of technological tools with them.
The team at Serve On have full access to Safe Citizens platform, which allows organisations to quickly and easily pass relevant information to rescuers and citizens on the ground – based on their exact location.
SarStuff (sarstuff.co.uk) has also given access to their incident management platform, which Serve On have been using to track and manage the huge amount of information streaming into the operations room.
The team have even been able to share this information with some of their EVOLSAR partners – allowing for better international coordination.
