Second man arrested in connection with Salisbury robbery

A second man has been arrested in connection with a robbery in Salisbury in the early hours of Saturday morning (28/01).

At around 1 am, the victim was approached and pushed against a bridge on Cranebridge Road. The two suspects made off with a handbag belonging to the victim’s partner.

A man from Salisbury was quickly arrested on suspicion of robbery and released on bail, and the second man, also from Salisbury, was arrested yesterday (30/01) after being located by the Wiltshire Police Fortitude Team at a property in Southampton.

The second man was also arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary following a break-in at Butts Terrace, Salisbury, and a burglary of the Nisa Local in The Crescent, Salisbury, both on January 15.

He was also further arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply after a quantity of Class A drugs were found during the arrest.

The man had been wanted after failing to attend Salisbury Magistrates’ Court in September 2022 and December 2022 after being charged with possession of Class A and B drugs and possession of a bladed article in a public place.

He remains in custody for questioning.
