Sarum Lights returns this November with tickets now on sale

Tickets for Salisbury Cathedral’s light and sound spectacular, Sarum Lights, are now on sale.

Returning for its third year, the incredibly popular light and sound experience will explore the Renaissance, with the artistic team at Luxmuralis inviting visitors to be immersed in the greatest paintings and artworks of the time.

The Renaissance was a time of major transformation in all parts of European society - cultural, artistic, scientific, political, geographic and economic.

Extending from the late 1400s to the 1600s, it is now seen period that bridges the gap between the ‘dark ages’ and the modern world, producing some of the best artists, architects, musicians, philosophers and scientists in human history.

Last year, Sarum Lights took on the theme of 'Heaven and Earth' sparking admiration in audiences for the living planet and the universe.

Projected onto the Cathedral’s West Front, in the Cloisters and in the main Cathedral building visitors were immersed in an astonishing series of abstract displays that transported them from sunrise to sunset, earth to space, ocean to land and beyond.

This year, the magic begins on Tuesday 8th November, when Salisbury Cathedral will be transformed by immersive light projections and atmospheric soundscapes that will take visitors on a spellbinding journey into the world of the great Italian Renaissance masters.

With exterior and interior displays, this immersive experience draws the viewer into the heart of some of the greatest paintings and artworks of all time, rekindling the wonder and excitement that must have been felt over 600 years ago as this extraordinary period in history unfolded.
