Salisbury FC manager Brian Dutton is calling on the local community to back his side as the season reaches its climax.

The Whites have ten remaining league fixtures, five of which will be played at the Ray Mac. The first of those fixtures is this Saturday (8th March) against Enfield Town.

Salisbury are currently in a battle just five points above the relegation places near the bottom of the Vanarama National League South after a successful promotion season last term.

This season has been a big adjustment to life in the second tier of non-league football, the highest level Salisbury FC have ever played back and now at this crucial juncture of the season, Dutton is calling for the local community to get behind his team.

The Salisbury manager said, “The Ray Mac is a hard place for teams to come when it’s full of noise and the supporters are getting behind the team. It’s a cliche to call fans the twelfth-man, but having a big crowd who get behind the boys makes such a big difference.

“At the end of last season, we felt the difference that support made. It helped get us over the line and win promotion to this division and now we need that support to help keep us here.”

Saturday’s visitors Enfield Town are just three places and five points below Salisbury in the table, occupying one of those relegation places and is one of the biggest games of the season so far.

Dutton continued, “We need to make the Ray Mac a fortress for our final five home fixtures. We need a big crowd that brings the noise. Who gets behind the team when they are doing well, but also in the tough moments, too.

“We are in a battle now, and we need to come together – the management, the players and the fans. Together we can ensure that this club stays at the level it is at.”
