Salisbury VS Chesham - Match Preview

On Easter Monday it was Salisbury who were unable to find their treat as they fell short to a 2-1 loss against Winchester.

But now, the Whites prepare for the last three games of the season, starting with a trip to Chesham on Saturday.

Not much movement can happen with Salisbury in the table for the remainder of this season and a bottom-half finish seems almost certain for them.

Young forward Devon Arnold scored the opener on Monday and has had decent performances nearly every time he makes an appearance.

Youthful spirit, bringing in development players, and handing out debuts has been a common theme for Brian Dutton in the last few games.

Monday night was no different, but Dutton belives it will take some time for the youngsters to get used to it:

"You wouldn't believe it was only two days between That and the Hendon performance.

"But, we've got a young team out there today, Toby 19 years of age Nas 20, McCreeds and Sunny 21, Devon 21, Josh Summerton is probably one of the senior boys at 23.

"Sometimes you have to expect that with young adults. You know there's nerves playing in front of a decent crowd and also decision making.

"I'm disappointed with the performance, I feel for the fans, but it can be expected from time to time with such young squad."

Whether the gamble of playing youth has worked or not is a different story, but with nothing to play towards for the rest of the season, using new players and boosting spirits in the camp will give a good platform for the Whites to utilize next season.

Chesham will be welcoming the Whites with all guns blazing, however, as they push for promotion themsleves.

Sitting in fourth place, just five points seperate them and the promotion places and if they do wish for a higher division they're going to have to give it their all in the last few games.

It's the start of a busy week for Dutton and his squad as after they complete the trip on Saturday, they must prepare for the grueling trip to Cornwall where they face Truro in their rearranged fixture.
