Salisbury Reds are marking Earth Day by offering discounted travel to people living in and visiting the area.
Bus passengers can already take advantage of the single journey fare cap - part of the Government’s Help for Households initiative - with tickets costing no more than £2.
Salisbury Reds are offering anyone using its app a Network Explorer ticket at less than half price.
“Adults can enjoy unlimited travel on all our services for the whole of Earth Day for £4,” said Salisbury Reds head of communications, Nikki Honer.
“We hope this will encourage them to leave their cars at home for the day and catch the bus instead."
Salisbury Reds says it's committed to improving the quality of air we breathe here, and we have been working on this in a number of ways. One of these is to invest in new buses here. They have also worked with Wiltshire Council on a successful funding bid that will see 23 new electric buses arrive in the city in 2026.
Salisbury Reds say, "We hope our Earth Day offer encourages more people to take the bus. If we can convert some car users, even for a few journeys, it could make a huge difference to the local environment in the long term, as well as helping ease the area’s congestion issues."
Anyone keen to give up their car for the day and take advantage of discounted all-day bus travel on Earth Day can download the app and use the code EARTH24 before they checkout to buy their ticket for just £4.
Please note, this code will only work on Network Explorer ticket. This ticket gives you unlimited travel on all services so is the best ticket to buy on this day.
