Salisbury looking to make it six on the spin

Salisbury will be looking to continue their fine form as they head to Poole Town with five wins in their last five league games.

Brian Dutton's team are currently top of the table after a third of the season and will be confident after showing strength of character and grabbing late winners in their last two matches.

Salisbury overcame a stubborn Hayes & Yeading at the Ray Mac on Saturday to make it five from five for the second time this season, although the last five in a row included cup fixtures. Can they go one better and make it six?

Their hosts this evening, Poole, come into the game after scoring seven for the second time this season. They demolished Didcot Town away from home on Saturday and currently find themselves 7th in the league and just one point from the play-off places.

There is a familiar face in the dugout at Poole, with former Salisbury striker Matt Tubbs, the man in charge on the south coast. Tubbs took up the role there after a spell at Bashley.

Matt Tubbs told the Poole Town website that he is looking forward to the game, "We understand how they play; it will be a tough game. They are not first in the league for no reason.

"They're a really good team. I know Brian really well, and he's got them playing his way now, and they're all buying into it.

"They are an athletic team, but I am really looking forward to it, two footballing teams going at it."

Poole Town have informed Salisbury that they have organised a pitch inspection at 2 pm ahead of the game.
