After losing their last 6 games in the Southern Premiership, Salisbury host 19th-placed Harrow Borough as the Whites search for their first win in the new year.
A 1-0 loss to Plymouth Parkway in their last domestic math means that Salisbury have fallen to 15th in the table.
However a week off (due to Bracknell Towns FA trophy commitments last weekend) has given the squad time to regroup and rejuvenate for this fixture on Tuesday night.
Although a short break may have been a good time for players to rest tired legs and get themselves focused on what's ahead, it can't change a personality, which is something that manager Brian Dutton believes needs changing.
"It's a good group we've got here, but it's clear what we need at a football club.
"Fans who remember the likes of Wayne Turk, Mike Fowler, Ian Herring, this caliber of player who had such successful careers; Not just through ability, but how they could communicate on a football pitch and how they could make other players play better through what they say and how they say it."
The 37-year-old also went on to explain how finding the back of the net is another issue his squad has at the moment.
"We need a goalscorer. We've got goalscorers, but we need someone to come in and reinvigorate that position."
However, he then went on to explain how difficult this might be.
"If you can find me a manager that's willing to let a proven goalscorer, scoring 20-30 goals in a season go mid-season... I'll snap your hand off."
A win for Salisbury could see them go up one place in the table, but a loss may see the season turn sour as they could fall down to 16th just narrowly escaping the relegation zone.
Harrow Borough, however, have the second-worst goalscoring record in the division so could provide the perfect platform for Brian Dutton and his men to accumulate their first win of 2023.
