Salisbury businesses lead the way with Toy Appeal success

This year's Great Big Salisbury Christmas Toy Appeal has broken the first of its targets.

The charitable Appeal launched last year by Louise Howard from independent recruitment company ReQuire Consultancy has today achieved over £3,600 of cash donations.

It is designed to help ensure that no child in our area will go without a gift from Father Christmas.

Last year's final achievement of £11,000 of donations meant over 600 toys were bought and provided for local children.

Local companies are donating money and toys to the appeal and Love Salisbury are encouraging the kind people of the city to help us break last year's fundraising amount.

Companies like Boswell Brothers, Stonehenge Plumbing and Heating and Salisbury Guttering Services have already made contributions.

Shaun Osmond from Ozweld International says, "Fantastic effort by all of those involved, amazing idea you should be so proud! We are so happy to be able to help and support this great fundraiser!

"Hopefully Santa & his elves will be EXTRA busy this year".

However many local people have contributed to the fund, 'The Smiths' family donated a massive £1,000 earlier this week - donating the amount of a reward for a lost bag.

John Treacy, Val Goode and 'Tamsin and Mark' have also made donations. We thank you.

Salisbury Radio's founder David Harber says, "We are already so grateful to the many local businesses who have already made a contribution to this year's appeal. But, I do think that this fair city of New Sarum can help make this, our second year, a bigger, better Christmas for young people in our area.
