Salisbury District Hospital has announced that both the Springs and Hedgerows restaurants have now re-opened to patients and visitors.
Both facilities have been closed due to the hospital’s response to the pandemic but following a careful assessment of the local COVID-19 risk both are now reopening to the public.
Ian Robinson, Head of Facilities, said, "It's great to see the restaurants open again and to have patients and visitors enjoying the food and refreshment available. The facilities have been closed for a long time and we would ask customers to be patient as we get things back to normal".
Chris Wells brought his daughter Amelia, aged 2 ½, in for an eye appointment, and was joined in Hedgerows café by his wife, Felicity, who is a hospital staff member in the Central Booking Department. Commenting on the experience Chris said, “I think it’s a good thing that the restaurants are open again, and to have it in the safe way they do is great".
Felicity added: “It’s nice to be back to having a nice warm atmosphere. It wasn’t great not being able to bring her in here when she had appointments".
