Pupils and staff of Winterbourne were joined at their Remembrance service today by members of the school's community with military connections.
The service took place as many others did around the country to mark the end of the first world war and remember those who have made sacrifices and given their lives whilst serving in the armed forces.
This year's remembrance also marks the 40th anniversary of the Falklands Conflict as well as the 100th anniversary of the Royal British Legion.
Those attending represented all three of the British armed forces, with veterans and serving personnel present. Between them, they have served in The Falklands, Northern Ireland, Iraq, and Afghanistan, as well as other operational theatres.
Major Becher, a governor at the school, led the service alongside Year 5 and 6 Bourne Forces children with parents serving in the military and the head girl and boy.
Readings from Major Becher and the children were followed by a performance of 'The Lord's My Shepherd' by the Winterbourne Military Children's Choir.
Children from the school with serving family members then presented poppies and a wreath.
A two-minute silence was immaculately observed, with the last post being played by one of the pupils, Luke.
The service was concluded with prayers led by the head teacher, Mrs Carter and Major Becher.
Some of the serving members remained after the service to talk to pupils about their roles and lives in the military.
