More details have been released about the Parish Poll that takes place on Thursday, 20th April 2023.
The poll comes after two parish meetings called by residents after Salisbury City Council increased their parish precept by just under 44%.
The poll question is, “Do you support a 5% cap on future increases to the Salisbury City Council precept and a parish consultation if any proposed increase is larger than 5%?”
The polling stations will be at Salisbury Guildhall and Five Rivers Leisure Centre.
The table below shows where you need to go to cast your vote
If you are unsure of your ward, please view the maps provided by Wiltshire Council, which are attached, or check on the City Council’s website – use the “Your Councillor” webpage as shown here – just put in your postcode and your councillors and your ward will be shown.
The hours of the poll are 4 pm - 9 pm. Voters cannot be issued with a ballot paper outside of that timeframe.
There will be no poll cards, postal voting or proxy voting - electors have to vote in person regardless of whether they are usually a postal voter or a proxy voter. Voter ID will not be required.
All questions about the conduct of the poll should be addressed to the Elections Team at Wiltshire Council.
