Nole & Friends pizza parties bring new foodie creations to Salisbury

Nole Pizza in Salisbury is launching a new series of monthly pizza parties called Nole & Friends this September which will feature a lineup of special guests.

The restaurant, which is situated in Salisbury’s bustling Market Square, will open up exclusively one night a month to host a special guest.

Diners will be able to order the guest pizza and tasty sides, Campari sodas and negroni shots will also be in full flow. The special pizzas will be priced at £15 each and £1 from each pizza sold will go to the Chickpea + Friends charitable fund, which helps two causes: providing for disadvantaged young children in Wiltshire and helping to welcome refugees into the county.

The series will kick off on the 28th of September with sausage legend, Owen Barratt taking to the ovens with his special pizza topped with fennel sausage, cime di rapa, salsa rossa and pecorino. There is no need to book in advance, guests are able to just turn up.

The current autumn line-up is listed here:

Owen Barratt – Wednesday 28th SeptemberMax Halley ‘King Sandwich’ & Magali Bellego ‘Queen Taco’ – Wednesday 12th OctoberMili Morrison & Pepa Portman of SOL Bakery – Wednesday 9th November

Max Halley from Max’s Sandwich Shop and his fiancé, Magali Bellego, who is behind the ethical and sustainable brand, Wax Wine, will be firing up the pizza ovens in October. Drawing on Magali’s Mexican heritage, the duo will be serving two creations: Carnitas (pork) - tomatillo sauce, mozzarella, pickled onions and Huitlacoche (veggie) – bean sauce, mozzarella, edible flowers, sour cream.

In November, Sol Bakery, an Argentinian-inspired roadside café and bakery in Hindon, will be popping up with a pizza topped with Smoked Fonthill venison, caramelised onion and chimichurri mayo.

Ethan Davids, owner of Nole Pizza said, "Nole and friends was an idea we had a while ago to keep things sexy when the weather turns and pizzas become less popular.

"The chefs we're working with have some serious credentials. Owen Barratt founded Monty's Deli in London, and you might recognise the name from his recent Sausage Shop Hot Dog Party at the Grosvenor Arms in Hindon. Max Halley (owner of Max's Sandwich Shop and the Five Bells) and Magali Bellego (his wonderful fiance and founder of Wax / Wine - our go-to candlemaker) are gonna bring a taste of Mexico into the equation, making juicy foldable Mexican pizzas to Nole.

"Both Pepa and Mili have opened the brilliant SOL Bakery near our boozer in Hindon. They're renowned for their B(eef)LT and are going to use locally sourced Fonthill venison for their pizza. All in all, we're buzzing."

The Nole team say they plan to continue to schedule regular party nights with many plans afoot for Spring and Summer next year, too.

Nole pizza opened in Salisbury in November 2020 as a lockdown project and has since thrived in Salisbury. Alongside serving top-quality sourdough pizzas to the people of Wiltshire, it also sells a range of merch, illustrated by its co-founder, Tommy Tullis.
