New owner for Fisherton Street escape room experience

Maisie Anderson may only be 28 years old, but she is now one of the youngest business owners on Fisherton Street.

Originally from Huddersfield, Maisie has been the manager for the Salisbury Escape Rooms for 3 years as ‘Games Master’, but last month she took complete ownership of the business.

“The opportunity to buy the business was too good an offer to pass up”, Maisie told Salisbury Radio.

“I have loved the industry since I started as a part-time Games Master back in 2019. My long term dream was to one day open my own escape room business – when my bosses told me that they were looking to sell, my five-year plan quickly became a five-month plan.”

Supporting Maisie’s efforts, local accountancy firm Xeinadin Hugh Davies and local white goods and plumbing firm Bailey’s Domestic Appliances have helped pay for a new advertising campaign on the city’s only local radio station, Salisbury Radio.

“I am so excited to really make Salisbury Escape Rooms my own” says Maisie. “I hope to continue the legacy started by the original owners back in 2015.

Death at the Lab‘, is their popular escape room, which has been running since before the 2020 lockdown. But plans are already on the way for its replacement.

Maisie adds, “Sticking to a classic crime theme, next time our team will be immersed in a cosy murder mystery. I have learnt a lot about making games these past few years, and I think this current design might be my best yet.

“I have started work on Travelling Puzzle Boxes. Games that can be hired for large corporate events in the local area to bring the fun of escape rooms directly to the client.

“The prototypes had a great showing at an event with Dark Revolution Brewery – and I believe they will be a great addition to our services once they are fully developed”.

Salisbury Escape Rooms‘ advertising is part-funded by Xeinadin Hugh Davies and Bailey’s Domestic Appliances, helping support businesses through the ongoing Fisherton Gateway roadworks. For more information about how your business might benefit, please email Karli Hart.
