New business offers an act of kindness to charities

Primrose Marquees and Events, a new business to Salisbury, is making it a key mission this year to support a local charity or an individual who wishes to raise funds for a special cause through its ‘Canvas of Kindness’ initiative.

‘Canvas of Kindness’ is to turn a fund-raising dream into a reality.

Each year, the team at Primrose Marquees will select one deserving cause, which will be awarded a stunning, fully set-up, and equipped marquee.

This will enable the successful applicant to run an amazing fund-raising event for their special project in 2025.

The offer includes everything needed to host a spectacular event, enabling guests to gather in a comfortable and elegant setting that sets the stage for generosity and impact.

Primrose Marquees was established by family members Cameron, Nicole, and Larry Walker.

Nicole Walker sets the scene on this generous offering and explains, “We are very lucky to start our own marquee business aimed at clients looking to hold a wedding or event in one of our beautiful marquees.

"But because we have received a lot of invaluable help and support along the way, we believe in the power of giving back and making a difference, particularly as it is now very challenging for charities to raise funds.

"This is why we are passionate about setting up and supporting a charitable event to help create positive change within our local community, and this is the reason that ‘Canvas of Kindness’ was born.”

To date, the business has received some heartfelt fund-raising ideas, but more applicants are invited to apply to be considered for this very special fundraising opportunity.

The Primrose Marquees team will decide on each application's merits, considering the significance of the event and its potential impact on the community.

A decision on the winning applicant will be announced towards the end of this year. The company looks forward to seeing this exciting offer turn a charitable vision into reality in 2025.

Primrose Marquees is also donating a large petal pole marquee and surrounding bell tents to a charity event at Wilton House on August 3rd, 2024.

The Salisbury Summer Fair is a fund-raising event for the Salisbury Hospice, and a Primrose Marquee will play centre stage in the retreat area, which will host yoga, hypnotherapy, and massage sessions together with well-being and self-care talks.
