A close encounter last weekend at home to Tiverton Town saw Salisbury narrowly miss out on any points and slip down into 15th in the table.
Chances astray and a fair goalkeeping display was ultimately the main downfall for the Whites, but as the depleted squad tries to forget their misfortune another challenge awaits.
Brian Dutton's men have to make the trip to Surrey this Saturday as they take on Metropolitan Police. A side Salisbury have never beaten before...
Currently sitting in 8th in the Southern Premiership, the Met will prove a tough test for the Whites.
A 1-0 win at home to Woking in the Surrey senior cup on Wednesday night, as well as a 2-0 triumph away against Gosport Borough on Saturday, has geared the old bill up for their next fixture.
Although momentum may be shifted towards the home side, Salisbury can't be counted out for a potential upset.
Results may have not gone the way of the whites, but recent performances have shown that they can be dangerous and cause trouble for any side.
Chances come to plenty, but finishing them... that's a different story.
This week, however, has bought some good news to Salisbury fans as young talents James Plant and Tommy McDermott have extended their stay at the Ray Mac after a deal was agreed with Port Vale.
When speaking to the Salisbury FC website, assistant manager Callum Hart expressed his delight with the extensions:
"It's really great news because as soon as they came into the building they've been a breath of fresh air really. Just 17 and 18 years old and they've been absolutely fantastic."
Hart then continued to give his thoughts on the upcoming fixture:
"A tough game away to Met Police, they're always a solid outfit. Always organised, always fit, just a really strong team.
"They've (Met Police) still got a chance of making the playoffs so we have to be on our A-game.
"We have to bring that Hanwell performance to Met Police and hopefully, we've got a good enough team to do so, put on a proper display."
When questioned about the unattractive stat that glooms over the fixture, the assistant was strong in his answer:
"We're hoping to put that right on Saturday."
