Local Sea Shanty Choirs to Perform Fundraising Concert for RNLI in Salisbury

The Salisbury, Wilton & District Branch of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) is gearing up for an exciting fundraising event that promises to be a night filled with maritime melodies. On Wednesday, June 21st, at 7:30 pm, two renowned local sea shanty choirs, The Navy Larks and All At Sea will take the stage at St Mary & St Nicholas Parish Church in West Street, Wilton.

The concert, organized by Kate Edgar, a Salisbury-based composer and musical director with an impressive portfolio of projects at the Salisbury Playhouse, aims to raise funds for the lifesaving activities of the Mudeford lifeboat station, which serves the local community.

The Navy Larks, a talented male choir known for their powerful performances, has been entertaining audiences and supporting charitable causes across the South of England. Their lively renditions of traditional sea shanties have made them a crowd favourite at numerous charity events.

Joining them on stage will be All At Sea, a new female sea shanty choir spearheaded by Kate Edgar herself. With her vast experience in the local music scene, Kate has assembled a group of talented female vocalists who are eager to showcase their harmonious talents in this special event.

Tickets for the concert are priced at £20 and include an interval drink. They can be purchased in advance through Eventbrite at https://tinyurl.com/4d257yvw or by scanning the provided QR code. For those who prefer to pay in cash, tickets will also be available at the door on the day of the event.

Ray Stedman encourages all music enthusiasts and supporters of the RNLI to attend this exciting fundraiser. "By joining us for a night of fantastic performances, you'll not only enjoy a memorable musical experience but also contribute to the crucial work carried out by the Mudeford lifeboat station," he emphasized.
