33 local businesses have raised over £41,000 for Salisbury Hospice Charity as they celebrate their 40th year.
Salisbury Hospice Charity launched its 40-4-40 club initiative in January of 2021, inviting local businesses to jointly raise £40,000 in support of Salisbury Hospice’s 40th-year celebrations.
33 local businesses signed up to the club and individually fundraised for the charity in a variety of different ways. This included challenge events such as physical and virtual walks, a plane pull and treks. Other businesses held competitions, events and donated their services to raise funds.
Back in December, to round off the fundraising for the year, Salisbury Hospice Charity launched their first-ever, online Christmas raffle. Members of the 40-4-40 club donated prizes to the raffle which raised an additional £1,170 towards the overall total.
In total, £41,392 was raised for the charity which will make a difference to the patients and families supported by Salisbury Hospice, with the funding going towards specialist nursing within the hospice’s inpatient unit.
Louise Compton, Corporate Fundraiser for Salisbury Hospice Charity said, “We are in awe of our 40-4-40 club members, who rallied together in support of the hospice, this was a huge collective effort and we are so grateful to each business, not just for the funds raised but for the time and effort put into their fundraising.
"It was wonderful to see these businesses come together to support a service that is so vital to individuals within their community.”
