Local company Lascar Electronics, known worldwide for environmental monitoring and display technologies, has donated £1,000 to the local charity The Stars Appeal.
With its HQ in Whiteparish and its operations hub near Old Sarum, many staff members at Lascar Electronics have benefited from the services and facilities provided by The Stars Appeal, the official charity of Salisbury District Hospital.
Simon Millard, a member of the Lascar production team and employee for 25 years, nominated The Stars Appeal to receive the company donation due to the support he and his family have received from the hospital over the years. “They have been great in many ways, but especially when my beloved Grandma passed away. Due to the facilities they provide with the ‘By your side’ sleeper chairs, I was able to stay with her 24/7”.
The Stars Appeal provide invaluable services throughout the hospital including all the new equipment and furnishings on the new Imber ward for older patients, specialist cots on the maternity ward, high-definition scopes for faster cancer diagnosis, free WiFi across the whole hospital site for visitors and patients and much, much more.
On Wednesday, 5th March, Lascar Electronics staff presented their donation to Emma Lewis, the Stars Appeal Play Assistant on the Children’s Ward at Salisbury District Hospital.
Managing Director, Richard Cameron said “As a leading business in the Salisbury area, it’s our responsibility, and pleasure, to donate to a charity that does so much for our local community. The Stars Appeal has touched the lives of many of our employees, including mine, and as an individual, and business, we’re grateful for everything they do to improve the healthcare experience at our local hospital”.
