Salisbury Hospice Charity Inaugural Oktoberfest Exceeds Expectations, Raising Over £14K Whilst Attracting New Supporters.
Salisbury Hospice Charity’s debut Oktoberfest, held at Salisbury Arts Centre on Friday, October 18th, and Saturday, October 19th, surpassed all expectations! The event was a huge success, raising an impressive £14K for the Hospice while attracting a new audience of supporters.
Over 370 people, dressed in their Bavarian best, attended the event to celebrate two unforgettable Oktoberfest fun evenings.
Guests enjoyed an authentic experience featuring German beer, delicious food catered by Charter 1227, and a fantastic entertainment line-up. The lively Shrewton Silver ‘Oompah’ Band had everyone in high spirits, while DJ Kev from Radio Odstock kept the party going with a selection of Euro hits that had everyone on their feet!
Grieg Futcher, Events Fundraiser, expressed his thoughts: "We are absolutely thrilled by the success of our very first Oktoberfest. The support we
received was overwhelming, and it was wonderful to see so many dressed up in their Bavarian best, swaying, cheering and dancing, all while raising vital funds for the hospice.
The event’s success would not have been possible without the support of Salisbury Arts Centre, Shrewton Silver ‘Oompah’ Band, DJ Kev, Charter 1227, Spencer Mulholland, Michelle Rose and Brunton Media plus our incredible volunteers and of course everyone who attended.”
The funds raised from Oktoberfest will go directly towards supporting Salisbury Hospice’s essential services, helping to provide compassionate care and support for patients and their families during terminal and life limiting illnesses.
