To celebrate World Kindness Day Salisbury Hospice Charity is looking for fun festive fundraisers to take on their '7 Acts of Kindness Challenge'.
Christmas is a time of happiness and good cheer, but for many, it can be a time of great difficulty, especially if you are mourning the loss of a loved one.
To spread some joy this Holiday season, Salisbury Hospice Charity is inviting you to take on the Kindness Challenge. This festive challenge aims to spread kind-heartedness within the community whilst raising much-needed funds to support terminally ill patients and their families at Christmas.
Your seven acts of kindness can be anything from baking for someone, or paying for a stranger’s coffee, to inviting someone over for Christmas who you suspect will be alone.
Kindness does not need to be grand gestures, says the charity; it could be as simple as giving someone a compliment, writing a thank you letter or supporting a neighbour.
It is free to take part, and once registered you will receive your fundraising pack and a FREE limited edition Salisbury Hospice Charity Christmas Hat.
The challenge is simple; join their Facebook Group for bundles of kindness inspiration, set up a fundraising page, wear your Christmas Hat with pride and complete 7 Acts of kindness in December.
Poppy Roots a fundraiser already signed up said, “Tomorrow marks 2 years since my Dad passed away. Dad’s final wish was to be at home, surrounded by his family, which was only made possible by the support of Salisbury Hospice. Not only did the hospice provide care for Dad, they supported each member of my family with a huge amount of kindness through such a hard time."
"I cannot think of a better way to show my eternal thanks to the hospice, than by taking on this challenge, raising some money for this invaluable service and at the same time spreading a little kindness. I know Dad would not want me to dwell but to be out in my Xmas hat spreading happiness in his memory”.
