Salisbury City Councillors celebrated the opening of ‘Fayre on the Square’ with a round of mini-golf on Saturday morning (24th July 2021).
Councillors, including the Mayor and deputy, picked up their putters and played the 9 hole golf course before enjoying a cup of tea on the Salisbury City Garden ‘Grey Goose Deck’.
“Salisbury City Garden is an amazing space to come and chill out. Hopefully, the residents and visitors to the city will come and support it,” commented the city’s Mayor, Cllr Caroline Corbin.
“Moving forwards, having had the difficult period of time that we have had, this has given a bright spot for the city and is something that people can come and enjoy,” added Cllr Tom Corbin.
This is the second year for Salisbury City Garden after a successful debut in 2020. “This time we have really upped our game,” said Dave Hancock, one of the owners.
“Grey Goose has sponsored our lovely deck area, and we are really looking forward to bringing some vibrancy back to the city after what has been an awful 18 months for hospitality.”
As well as the well-stocked bar serving hot drinks and cool beverages, there are also three local food vendors offering an array of delicious street food.
Charter 1227 will be serving a Mediterranean street food menu and The Eccentric Group will be dishing up morning breakfast bagels as well as Mexican food later in the day. And of course, there will be refreshing ice creams from the ‘Van on the Square’.
