Five Rivers swimming pools closed due to fault

Wiltshire Council will temporarily close its swimming pools at Five Rivers Health and Wellbeing Centre, Salisbury, starting tomorrow (11th June) due to a mechanical issue which affects the hot water and heating system and needs urgent repair.

While work is carried out to fix the issue as soon as possible, all planned pool sessions will be cancelled until further notice. Although all other leisure and fitness services are broadly unaffected at the centre and will remain operational, there will be no hot water or heating at the site, which will impact what the café can offer and mean there will be no hot water in taps and showers.

Engineers are on-site, aiming to reopen the affected services as soon as possible. The council will confirm a specific timeframe when it can.

The council is liaising directly with other partners and services who also use the site to notify them of the situation, keep them updated, and support them in making temporary arrangements as required.

Cllr Ian Blair-Pilling, Cabinet Member for Leisure, said: “A mechanical issue which affects our hot water and heating system has been identified and engineers will make repairs as quickly as possible. Unfortunately, this will mean some disruption at the centre and we apologise for any inconvenience while this work is carried out.

“We can’t confirm yet exactly when all the facilities and services will be back to normal, but it is a top priority to get the issue fixed and we’ll keep people up to date.”
