The first selection of homes has been released for sale at a new development in the village of Alderbury.
Construction work is already underway at Pembroke Gardens, where 50 new Linden Homes properties are being built on the former home of Alderbury Football Club, which has relocated to a neighbouring site.
Vistry Group, which builds homes under the Linden Homes brand, is delivering 39 new homes for private sale and 11 affordable properties for local people through rent or shared ownership, alongside new public open space.
As well as providing a mix of two, three and four-bedroom homes, the development will also include a new and improved Guide hut for the 1st Alderbury Guides.
There will also be improvements to the facilities at Alderbury and West Grimstead Primary School by providing a new larger brick-built pre-school building as well as allowing the school to extend its playing fields.
Melanie Richards, sales and marketing director for Vistry Southern, commented, “Pembroke Gardens is already proving to be a popular development where we have had a high level of demand from people registering their interest.
“At the development, we are delivering a range of homes in a variety of styles to meet the needs of everyone from growing families to downsizers. This selection of homes will attract a mix of residents who will create a balanced and varied new community.
“The development will be particularly attractive to families with young children as there is Alderbury and West Grimstead Primary School right next door. The new Guide HQ is also on the site and Alderbury Football Club has moved to a neighbouring location, just a short walk away.
“In keeping with its rural setting, the development itself will feature plenty of green public open space which will include grassland, wildflower meadow and children’s play equipment. Residents will benefit from being able to explore the local Wiltshire countryside or to meet and relax in the outdoor spaces literally on their doorstep.
“This development is in an ideal location as it is in a lovely village setting but just three miles away from all the charm and amenities of the medieval cathedral city of Salisbury. Pembroke Gardens will serve commuters well as it also has excellent road links to Bournemouth and Southampton, while there are direct rail links from Salisbury to Bristol and London.”
