Firewalk raises £30,000

For the 65 people who took part in last week's Firewalk outside the Guildhall, they can feel justifiably proud of themselves.

It has been confirmed that the event on Friday has raised £30,000 for Salisbury Hospice Charity.

On Friday 11th June, 65 dare-devil fire walkers turned out to walk 15 feet across 550 degree Celsius hot coals.

The fundraisers took part in the charity's first-ever Fire Walk event in the spectacular setting, in front of the Guildhall in Salisbury.

The event is all part of Salisbury Hospice's 40th Birthday celebrations.

Head of Fundraising for the charity, Paula Flower said, ‘It was a fantastic night and I’d like to thank our supporters for taking on this exciting challenge to raise vital funds for Salisbury Hospice. This year it is our 40th birthday, what a brilliant way to help us celebrate by raising over £30k towards this incredible service’.

You can still donate to the challenge which was hosted on the night by Salisbury Radio's Ian Burrage here - https://www.justgiving.com/campaign/shcfirewalk
