Dutton secures first Salisbury win

Salisbury FC returned to winning ways and secured Brian Dutton's first victory since taking over at the Ray Mac.

Goals in each half ensured that the Whites ran out 2-0 winners against Hanwell Town, who sit just outside of the playoff places after the result.

New loan signing Seung Woo Yang went straight into the starting lineup. His arrival was announced earlier in the day. He arrived on loan from Eastleigh, having previously been with Southampton and Forest Green Rovers.

A shift in formation saw the home side start brightly and full of energy. Salisbury were controlling the game for the majority of the first period and deservedly took the lead at the midway point of the half.

A good ball into the box was flicked on by Dan Fitchett, and a calm finish was applied by Sam Ashton.

Hanwell rallied, fought their way back into the game, and could have led at halftime. A mixture of wasteful finishing and superb 'keeping from Gerard Benfield kept the side from London at bay.

The second half saw Hanwell push for a way back into the game. Benfield was once again called on to preserve the White's advantage.

In the pick of his interventions, Benfield stretched and tipped a goal-bound shot onto the bar on 86 minutes.

Benfield was duly announced the sponsor's man of the match before Seokjae Lee put the cherry on the cake during stoppage time. Salisbury's second goal was the final act of an entertaining game of football.

Salisbury have another tricky fixture at the weekend as they travel to second place Weston-super-Mare on Saturday.
