Dutton looking forward to his first home game in charge

Brian Dutton returns to the Ray Mac this afternoon for his first game as Salisbury FC manager.

Having taken over first-team affairs just over a week ago, the former Whites player is looking forward to welcoming supporters to the ground as his tenure gets underway.

His first game in charge ended in a 1-1 draw away at North Leigh after only meeting the players hours before kick-off, and he has limited time with the players this week.

He had his first training session with the players on Wednesday of this week. They trained at the Ray Mac and had his first proper sit down with the players. This gave him the chance to explain his thoughts on how to take the club forward and his management ethos.

Dutton admits that it will take time for changes to become apparent within the first team with the squad he inherited.

The squad currently only train once a week. In Brian's mind, this leaves the club at a disadvantage and something that he plans to change in the future. This may not change until next season, however.

Salisbury and their opponents today, Met Police, have a similar record going into the match. Salisbury have won one more game, having played one extra game. Salisbury currently sit 7th on 19 points, with Met Police 9th on 16 points.

Dutton spoke of his excitement when Salisbury Radio after the North Leigh game last Saturday.

Salisbury FC V Met Police is a 3 pm kick-off today (Sat 22nd Oct 22), with the bar open early for the 12:30 Premier League fixture between Nottingham Forest & Liverpool on the screens.
