The charity Crimestoppers is calling for volunteers in our area, to help it tackle crime, to make the areas safer places to live, work or visit.
Volunteers help give a voice to people who are unable to speak up with information about crime.
Crimestoppers, which is independent of the police, takes crime information 100 per cent anonymously.
Beth Simpson, Regional Manager at the charity Crimestoppers, said: “If you’re concerned about crime in your town and you have a few hours a month to spare, please consider volunteering with Crimestoppers – you will be making a positive impact in your local area by using your existing skills and knowledge.
“We are looking for people from all communities who can attend events or give talks which will raise awareness of our charity. We also need a fundraising expert to help us apply for grants, or people with administration and financial skills they would like to use to make Swindon and Wiltshire safer.
“As a volunteer, you will help us to connect with every community, so that we can increase recognition of our charity. You will be helping us to let people know about our 24/7 0800 555 111 number or online untraceable form, where information can be given 100% anonymously about crime.
"It’s a great way to use your existing skills to help your local area, or to develop new expertise – all whilst knowing you are making a significant difference to people’s lives.”
