Colour Run ends St Joseph's school year and celebrates equality, diversity and inclusivity

During the last week of the term, Saint Joseph's Catholic School finished the year with a celebration of equality, diversity and inclusivity.

On Wednesday, 19th July, the Anti-Bullying Ambassadors led an assembly on spotting signs of bullying and being an upstander.

Students also had a PSHE lesson on the nine protected characteristics per the Equality Act 2010.

The rest of the afternoon was a super learning day, meaning students attended their usual lessons with a theme of inclusivity.

To conclude the celebrations, on Thursday, the 21st of July, Saint Joseph's hosted their first Colour Run Festival.

The event was attended by the Mayor of Salisbury, Cllr Atiqul Hoque, who spoke to students about the projects they have been running in school to promote equality, diversity and inclusivity.

To subsidise the event, students from the Anti-Bullying Ambassadors, Inclusivity Alliance, and Sports Captains fundraised through activities including:

Local businesses were happy to be involved, and the school were grateful for their support in sponsoring the day.

Chloe Moss, a teacher at St Joseph's, said, "A huge thank you to Parkwood Health & Fitness, Five Rivers Health & Wellbeing Centre, Cholderton Rare Breeds Farm, Tinga, Sips, BakesbyKirsty, The New Inn in Amesbury, Sainsbury's, and Durrington Swimming Pool for your support in creating these opportunities for our young people!"
