City Council adds more electric vans to their fleet of vehicles

Salisbury City Council has announced that they have added four new EV electric vans to their fleet of vehicles.

This means that half of the Parks Team vehicle fleet is now electric.

The vans, which are Ford Leader Transit 350 L2, were purchased through Hendy Ford and are on a 5-year lease to the City Council.

The Parks Team now have four electric vehicles and one hybrid electric vehicle; the latter was purchased in 2021. They will be used to travel with equipment to Salisbury's parks daily for grounds maintenance, including gardening, strimming, and pitch marking, as well as essential safety checks and inspections.

The new vans demonstrate the Council's commitment to lowering its carbon footprint for a greener, cleaner Salisbury.

The City Council says it hopes to replace all Council-owned vehicles with electric-powered vehicles as soon as is practically possible.
