A motorcyclist was stopped by police on the A303 in Wiltshire after allegedly being caught speeding at 110mph.
The rider reportedly told officers that the excessive speed was due to an "urgent need for the toilet."
The incident occurred during a routine patrol by Wiltshire Police's Roads Policing Unit, which was monitoring the A303 for traffic violations. Officers clocked the motorcyclist at 110mph, well above the legal speed limit.
Upon being stopped, the rider explained their reason for speeding, but the police were unmoved by the excuse. Instead, they issued the motorcyclist with a court summons.
A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police commented on the incident, stating, "The rider stated they needed the toilet 'urgently,' hence the speed. However, we provided them with some paper in the form of a court summons."
The police reiterated the importance of adhering to speed limits, stressing that excessive speeding is one of the "fatal five" offences that significantly increase the risk of collisions. The incident forms part of a broader campaign by Wiltshire Police to enhance road safety across the county.
