Race for Men is back for 2023, and it's bigger and better than ever, with a football tournament, live music, a bar and a new route.
This year's event is on Sunday, May 28th, and there will be a choice of routes. Returning are the popular 3k, 10k and half marathon routes; there will be a 5k for all the ParkRun fanatics for the first time.
Anyone can participate in Race for Men, with the run open to all genders, ages and levels of ability.
In addition to the run this year, there is a football tournament in the afternoon. The event will continue into the afternoon, raising money for The Stars Appeal Prostate Cancer and Urology Fund.
Throughout the day, there’ll be music from local bands, including The Deloreons, Signature
Vision, Disco Dion and many, many more.
Organiser Toby Giles, whose father was diagnosed with prostate cancer, said: “His early
diagnosis and amazing treatment helped to give him the all-clear, and it’s why it’s so
important for us to raise awareness for others.
“Race For Men is not only about the money that goes to the hospital; it’s about keeping
prostate cancer in the public eye so we can find a cure.”
