Wiltshire Police is appealing for witnesses following a serious assault in Salisbury.
At around 2.30am yesterday morning (3rd December), a man was assaulted with an object, believed to be a screwdriver, at the junction of New Canal and Milford Street.
The victim sustained facial injuries, including a puncture wound just below his eye, which required hospital treatment.
In a statement, police said, "The suspect, described as a man wearing black with a face covering, is believed to have ridden away on a push bike. He is thought to have been cycling around the city centre for some time before the incident.
"Officers are carrying out enquiries including house to house and CCTV, and people are likely to see an increased police presence.
