Another helping of Taste Salisbury as the food and drink festival returns

The ten-day celebration of food and drink will return to the city this summer.

Taste Salisbury will see a programme of events, special promotions and discounts held across the city centre from 26th August, all of which will showcase the delicious local and regional food and drink on offer here in Salisbury.

Salisbury BID, Experience Salisbury and Salisbury City Council are jointly producing the city-wide ‘feastival’ once again, which will finish with Foodie Sunday on 4th of September.

Caroline Corbin, Mayor of Salisbury, said, “We are thrilled to confirm that Taste Salisbury is set to return. We want to build on the success of 2021 with more business involvement, more events and more celebration. Our Foodie Sunday will once again round off the ten-day programme with stalls, entertainment and activities for the whole family in the Market Place. We can’t wait to bring more flavour and fun to the city centre!”

In 2021, venues across the city took part in the very first Taste Salisbury. Salisbury Cathedral, Arundells, Salisbury Museum, Salisbury Arts Centre and The Rifleman’s Table were some of those involved. This year, businesses are once again being encouraged to take part in the festivities by hosting their own activities or promotions.

Artisan Wine and Spirit Co. took part in the festival last year, co-owner and Salisbury BID Director, Elizabeth Coombes, said, “This year Taste Salisbury is set to be bigger and better than 2021 with a huge array of events planned. Having taken part last year with three events, I would absolutely encourage other Salisbury businesses, large and small, to join in.

"It’s such a great way of bringing the city together, getting businesses to work together and showing off all the amazing things Salisbury has to offer. Who doesn’t love food and drink?”

As well as events across the city centre over the ten days, this year will also see the addition of the Taste Salisbury Awards. Businesses will be able to showcase their food and drink quality in five categories:
· Supreme Bar Snack
· Best Brownie
· Legendary Latte Art
· Coolest Cocktail
· Brilliant Burger

Winners will be determined by a public vote which will take place through the Experience Salisbury website from 26th August to Saturday 3rd September. The winners will then be announced during a ceremony as part of Foodie Sunday. More details will be released at a later date.

Dan Collins, Salisbury BID Business Manager said, “Our food and drink venues, producers and sellers are an important part of city life and we think that’s something to celebrate. We hope even more businesses will get involved this year, with events and special promotions just some of the ways they can take part in the festivities.

"We are also looking forward to introducing the Taste Salisbury Awards, which will recognise Salisbury's hardworking food and drink companies and their employees in a new fun way. Watch this space for more information!”

Businesses interested in taking part in Taste Salisbury and the new awards should submit their details here.
