Homeless Charity Alabaré has a new fundraising event on its calendar for 2023. It is taking part in the Trethowans Salisbury Marafun on Sunday 8th, October 2023.
This is a half-marathon event around the streets of Salisbury and through parts of the Chalke Valley.
This is the first time Alabaré has committed to a sporting event, and it hopes a team of 25 fundraisers will don an Alabaré vest and compete in the run.
A £20 Registration Fee is required at the sign-up stage, and runners are asked to raise at least £200.
In return, they will receive an Alabaré running vest, access to training plans, a sponsorship form, links to the Alabaré Just Giving Page to pay in any sponsorship, an ‘I’m taking part’ image to share on social media channels and a 20% off discount on any kit needed for the run from Mountain Warehouse in Salisbury.
Kathryn Furnell, Corporate Fundraiser for Alabaré, says: “We hope to attract local runners who wish to tackle a half marathon for the first time - they are the people who are most likely to get the fundraising support they need from friends and family to reach and even exceed the fundraising target”.
She added, “of course, we’d like keen athletes too - having the winner cross the line in an Alabaré vest would be the dream”!
