Alabare looking for people to 'hot step' for charity

Local charity Alabaré is inviting people with a sense of adventure to join them for a Firewalk this December.

The charity, which supports homeless and vulnerable people across the South and South-West, is hosting this special event at its Old Sarum Development Centre in Salisbury on Friday, 1st December, from 6 pm to 8 pm.

The Firewalk is open to anyone over the age of 16, and each is asked to raise at least £100 in sponsorship, which will help fund the charity’s work.

On the night, firewalkers will receive training, before embarking on a daring walk across red-hot coals, which can reach temperatures of over 500 degrees Celsius! Each is guaranteed to finish the evening feeling empowered and with a huge sense of achievement.

The event offers a brilliant opportunity to those looking to do something “a bit different” in the run-up to Christmas. If local companies or groups of friends are looking for a fun Christmas group activity with a difference, why not sign up and take part? Alabaré is offering a discount for teams of five or more people – so get in touch with their team for more information.

Previous Alabaré Firewalk participant Claire said: “I am really glad that I took part in the Alabaré Firewalk. I was pretty nervous, but there was a great team spirit; we all felt determined to go through with it.

"We could all feel the intense heat coming off the coals as we waited for our turn, but Cliff had provided us each with excellent training and so I was excited to do my walk and see how it felt. It was fantastic, and I’m so happy that I can say that I’ve done it!”
