Salisbury District Hospital has confirmed the death of a patient who tested positive for COVID-19 on Sunday 22nd August.
A spokesperson said, "Sadly, we can confirm that a patient who had been cared for at Salisbury District Hospital and had tested positive for COVID-19 died on Sunday 22nd August. The patient was in his 80s and had underlying health conditions.
“Our thoughts and condolences are with the patient’s family and loved ones at this very difficult and distressing time".
A total of 218 patients have now passed away.
There are currently 12 COVID-19 positive patients being treated at the hospital.
“We would urge everyone to continue to take precautions to minimise the spread of the virus,” they added.
