Police seize vehicle after being driven with no licence or insurance

Police in Fordignbridge seized a vehicle after the driver was caught driving without a licence or valid insurance.

A vehicle driven by a male without a driving licence or insurance was seen just across the border in Alderbury. The driver tried to evade police and decamp to a nearby address.

The vehicle has now been seized, and the driver was reported for offences, with a £300 fine, 6 points, recovery costs of £150, plus £20 a day storage, and the need to insure the vehicle before recovery.

A spokesperson for Hampshire & Isle of Wight police said, “Even though the Police Station at Alderbury is now closed, Hampshire and Wiltshire police forces work together as one team to ensure effective targeting of those who decide to ignore the law to protect rural communities.

“If you know someone driving illegally, call your local Neighbourhood Policing Team on 101 in confidence or phone Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 to make the New Forest and Avon Valley areas safer places for all.”
