Dutton is excited for the new season

Brian Dutton is looking forward to the new season, and it’s good to get the players back in and training.

Speaking as the club prepares for the new season and a new league after winning promotion via the playoffs last season, there is excitement in the camp.

He said, “The lads we’ve brought in, Jordan (Ragguette) from Totton, we obviously came up against him numerous times last season, and he’s a really exciting talent. I think he’ll be a fans favourite.

“We’ve also brought in Big Rafa (Ramos) from Gosport, another guy that was a real problem for us in the games we come up against and I think he’s got another couple of gears he can go through.

“Then finally, Fas (Craig Fasanmade), he’s proven at Conference South level.

“He’s had a really productive season with Chippenham last season and yeah, he’s we’re really excited to see him play the first opportunity.

“Things are busy. They’ve not really stopped behind the scenes. Lots of work still going on to bring in more new signings.

“It’s a tricky, tricky stage this because, ultimately, we don’t just want to rush and panic. We’re talking to numerous players, but they’ve got to be the right fit. Ultimately. We haven’t got a huge budget at this level, so we’ve got to spend our money wisely and prudently.

“So yeah, it’s a case of it’s a long old season. We don’t want to be stuck with the wrong players through rushing things or being sloppy with our approach to recruitment. We’ll sit tight until the right players come available, and then when they do, hopefully, we can be decisive and set ourselves up for a really positive season.”
